THAT'S RIGHT BITCHES. I ran for thirty minutes straight and probably could have kept going! Granted, it was at a snail's pace (4.5 mph) but that's still the longest I have ran constantly EVER. My breath was steady and my legs weren't in pain. It was the BEST RUN YET! Honestly, I prefer running slower and going farther than trying to up the speed and only making it a mile. I FELT LIKE A BOSS when someone got on the treadmill next to me--I was like "Yeah, check out my time. I've been running that long. Impressed? You should be."
On a less positive note, I didn't log my weight this morning. After this weekend's alcohol indulgence and overeating both days, the number wasn't pretty. BUT that gives me reason to start my weigh-ins on days other than Sundays now. I'm thinking Thursdays.
Cheers!

Different kinds of hangovers...
I've decided to share what I've learned about hangovers thus far in my short life. I never really drank to get drunk in college....well, except for second semester senior year. I was pretty much drunk everyday, but pleasantly drunk. But that's not the point. I never really had a hangover in college, maybe one good one, but I had no reason to think about them.
Well, now I've gotten used to waking up Saturday or Sunday morning with a slight hangover (I blame the elevation). And it never stopped me from working out that morning. I live by the Lady Gaga philosophy: work out no matter if I'm too tired, too hungover, to lazy, etc... Well, normally it's a beer hangover. This morning, I learned wine hangovers are a little different.
Last night was rough, to say the least, so when I woke up with a little hangover, I wasn't surprised. I drank some water, ate some breakfast and lazed around for a few hours. I decided I needed to work off the cupcakes from last night and went to the gym. BAD. IDEA. Apparently, exercise makes a wine hangover worse. Because now I feel like shit and grocery shopping was the biggest feat I've done in a while. UGH. I bought a Gatorade and am hoping to kick this in the butt. BUT DAMN. Lesson learned: beer hangovers can be worked out. Wine hangovers cannot. They are best handled by laying around until it decides to leave. I can only assume hard liquor hangovers are closer to the latter.
If only I wasn't so dedicated to work out in the mornings...or drink so much at night. Haha.

Autumn Goals
I know, I know, two blog posts in one day? Get a life, Keri. But I wanted to create a list of goals I have for the Fall. I had a few for the summer and didn't quite make those.
Goal #1: Run 100 miles. Ended up changing it to 50 miles and I think I'll hit that by September no problem. Perhaps if I counted all my exercise, like walking and biking, I would have hit 100 but I just traveled too much for it to even come close.
Goal #2: Under 200 lbs by June 23rd (DeLost family vacation). I was close, but again, no cigar. I think when I left for the vacation, I was around 202 lbs. But I really wanted to be UNDER 200. It took me another month to get under 200 lbs. All this vacationing needs to stop. Haha. Good thing I've got a whole quarter to stay put before I head home again.
Goal #3: Finish 30 Day Shred. THIS I COMPLETED! :)
So not horrible, but I could have done better. So I'm making a list of goals for the Fall Quarter. I'm trying to make them smaller so they are more achievable this time around. I might add some later and some might me amended later, but for now, here we are:
Goal #1: 195 lbs by September 16th (my first film festival)
Goal #2: 190 lbs by end of Fall Quarter, Nov 20th-ish (you like how I'm giving myself two months to lose 5lbs? haha.)
Goal #3: Need to buy new pants before I go home
Goal #4: NOT GAIN IT ALL BACK WHILE I'M AT HOME. I want to be lookin' good when I head to Williamsburg with Robs & his family for New Years. :)

Long Overdue Post
So I'm back. I've been working my tail off this week to lose the water weight and get back into things after several weeks of vacations and friends. I never did a final weigh in/measurement after 30DS so I'm counting today's as just that.
SW: 204.2 lbs
Waist: 40in
Hip: 37.5in
Bust: 41in
Calf: 17in
Arm: 14in
Thigh: 28in
Here's the last chunk of my 30DS excel sheet...
In total, I lost 5.4 lbs & 5.25 inches. Not great, but not bad. The best thing is that I can feel a difference in my strength and SEE a difference in my calves. I wish my arms would have gotten smaller (I'm sick of the Pete & Pete flab. See previous blog posts for explanation), but overall, I completed 30DS without dying. Go me. *If you want to see progress pictures from start and finish of 30DS, go to my MFP blog @ http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/knoll630
As for my current situation, I started SIWW on Monday and started another spread sheet for that, just to keep track of what days I do it and what days I run and what days I shouldn't run, etc... Here is that sheet:
I really like this new workout. It's more strength mixed with cardio so I'm hoping to see some differences with this regime than I did 30DS. I felt so behind last time that perhaps I wasn't burning as much as I could have. But for now, let's celebrate that I did lose weight & inches and that I have officially reached ONE-derland and plan to stay there for a long while! :)

Speed (?) Training
So I wasn't feeling super pumped to workout so I decided to do a short workout today. It's technically speed training, but I laugh because my "speed training" is most people's normal running pace. I ran 1 mile at a 5.5 mph pace, which is just under 11 minutes per mile.
It was hard, but not impossible. I had to push the last 0.15 miles but I did it! Who would have thought? I remember when my goal was just to be able to jog a mile straight. My legs feel better, but there's still a burning on my inner thighs, which I'll admit I like to feel since that's where the jiggly fat needs to burn from. Haha.
I'm really hoping all this working out pays off on Sunday's weigh in.

Four Day Weekend
Well, my internship boss just emailed me and told me not to come in anymore this week. Basically, I've researched four cities only to have them get rejected by the network. So until they get their shit together and decide on the final two cities, I really have nothing to do. I don't know what I'm going to do with all this free time...
That being said, I thought I'd blog about my past few exercise days. After that super run on Tuesday, I decided to take yesterday a little easy. I didn't do SIWW, instead waiting until after work to go to the gym and walk on the treadmill. I did half a mile at 3mph at 10 incline, then half a mile at 3mph at 7 incline, then half a mile at 3mph at 3 incline, and then another five minutes at 3mph at 0 incline as a cool down. Then I did some serious stretching on my legs.
Luckily, it must have paid off because I felt good enough to do SIWW this morning. And now that I don't have to go to work today, I think I'm going to go get quarters and do laundry. Maybe vacuum. Then hopefully bike or run or something later to get my extra cardio in.
Robs asked me to spend New Year's with him in Williamsburg, so I'm really trying to buckle down this school year and lose another 10 lbs before then. For anyone else, 10 lbs in like four months would be easy but I seem to be building muscle faster than I can burn fat so it's a slow process--but I have some sick calf muscles! Maybe I'll post a picture later. Haha.
Anyways, time to get a move on.

My Legs Feel Like Jell-O
I worked out WAAAAAY too much today. I did SIWW this morning and definitely felt the effects from yesterday's workout in the squats. I did better, as in I did more of the workout than yesterday, but I felt it. My legs were already sore when I agreed to go with Kirsten on a hike after work.
We got all ready to go, but they cancelled it due to weather. Instead, we went to Wash Park and ran...for an hour and a half. FUCK ME. Of course, she ran laps around me, but I did run/walk intervals (running for almost 40 minutes total at random paces depending on whether Kirsten was pushing me or not). I FEEL SO TIRED RIGHT NOW.
I'm guestimating that I ran a total of 3ish miles since I did the outer loop once, probably close to a mile in the inner loop, and then half of the outer loop. My pedometer said 2.65 miles and it's usually lower but I logged it anyway since I didn't have a better guess.
Oh well, time to eat something and let my body rest.

Oh yeah, I did finished 30DS...
Yes, I did finished 30DS last week. No, I didn't take final weight measurements or anything since Maria was here and I wasn't exactly keeping to my calories very well. I started Shred It With Weights (SIWW???) today and am waiting to weigh in and measure until Sunday. I'm hoping I can at least get close to 199 again.
I'm really disappointed with my results from 30DS. Everyone else seemed to have AMAZING results and I barely lost an inch, total, from my entire body. FUCK THAT BULL SHIT. At this point, I have no idea how many calories to eat everyday and what to do for exercise. WHY IS THIS SO HARD. Sometimes I just want to stop eating...but then I realize I would be a major bitch all the time. Haha.
Anyways, I don't think SIWW burns as many calories as 30DS since it's mostly weight training with little cardio, so I'm going to go for a quick run before dinner.

"Run, Run, With Her Top Down Baby She Flies"
I'm starting to get creative with my running blog titles. Haha. Lyrics from a Lady Gaga song, of course. I went on another run this evening right before it got dark.

My pace slowed again. Last time must have been an anomaly--maybe I thought I was being chased by something. I ran about 1.68 miles in 22 minutes (and 9 seconds) and then walked for 10 minutes after to cool down. That makes about a 13 minute mile.
I'm hoping all of this extra exercise will really help get my weight back down. So far, it's dropped from 210 to 202 so maybe all of it will come off! I can dream, can't I? Also, I'm really disappointed in my results from 30DS. I don't think something major is going to happen in the next 5 days so I guess it doesn't drastically change everyone. :( BUT I did order JM's Shred It With Weights so I have something to start when I finish 30DS.
Time for yogurt and granola! :)

I'm Going to Get Back to Under 200 If It Kills Me!
Well, like I said, that week and a half in Evansville really pushed me back into the 200s again. While I know most of it, hopefully a lot of it, is going to go away quickly after I start eating normal food again, I just don't want to fight those 203/204/202 numbers again.
So I'm stepping it up. I went to the gym tonight. I walked the "cardio" program for 24 minutes, which was between 3 and 5 incline at speeds between 3.0mph and 3.5mph. Then, when I accidentally stopped the program before it was over, I decided to run for a bit. I started at 5mph for about 0.5 mile, then reduced to 4.5 for like three minutes, then back to 4.7 mph for two minutes and then back to 4.5 mph to finish the mile in 13 minutes.
I burned another 300+ calories so I'm going to probably eat my yogurt again with granola tonight and call it a day. My latest plan is to eat 1700 net calories a day and see what that does for me. For some reason, I feel like I'm not eating enough each day. Maybe I'm burning more calories than MFP says OR, I found these two other websites that suggest eating over 2000 calories a day to lose weight...which could also mean I'm not eating enough...which is why I'm upping the net cals again.
WHY IS THIS SO HARD!?!? Ugh.

Boredom Runs
Since I ate dinner, and second dinner, before the clock even reached 6pm, I figured tonight was a good night to go out for a run. Plus, it was cloudy and cool out so I might as well take advantage of that. My plan was to just jog lightly for as long as I could and then stop. Well, I ended up running for a little over 20 minutes (about 20 minutes, 30 seconds) in sporadic loops around my apartment. Here's the course:

Basically, I ran up to Asbury St. then over to High St., up the hill to Buchtel then over to my alley where I started outside my apartment. Then I did two loops of the alley-Asbury-York-Jewell which I think is about a third of a mile. I wasn't trying to break any records and stopped when I was tired. Like I said, it ended up being over 20 minutes and a little under 1.75 miles. When I sat down to calculate my pace, I think my face exploded: UNDER A 12 MINUTE MILE.... WHAT!!!! I still don't believe it. All of my treadmill training must have paid off. Regardless, I feel great about that run. :)
And now I get to eat some yogurt and granola. NOM NOM NOM.

30 Day Shred: L3D3
HELLO AGAIN!! I am alive. I've just been in Evansville for the past week and a half filming my thesis project. Unfortunately, I didn't get a lot of exercise in while I was there, though I managed to complete Level 2 and move into Level 3. Exercising in hotel rooms is a bitch.
Level 3 is waaaaay better than Level 2 was. Less planks. Another unfortunate thing is that I ate like SHIT while I was home--I feel like I gained 10 lbs. And according to the scale, I DID! Now, I'm not freaking out yet since I know that I am probably retaining LOTS of weight due to the sodium intake and the heat/humidity. I'll keep track of it as I get back on my diet plan and hopefully most of it will go away quickly. HOPEFULLY.
I also didn't take my measurements or weigh in while I was home so I don't have a Level 2 progress sheet to post. But I need to move since I'm going into High Noon an hour early--they have a big meeting at 1 and I need to make lots and lots and lots of copies. Woot.
